Cyclone Taylors Sports

Donald Wrye, the Two-time Academy Award nominated director (Best Documentary, Short Subjects: An Impression of John Steinbeck: Writer, 1969; The Numbers Start with the River, 1971) comes back to direct his beloved tale of a Lexie, the young skater with big dreams. Everything changes for the rising star when she is blinded in a tragic accident and tries to make a comeback with the help of her devoted boyfriend, Nick. Popular recording artist Britt Nicole re-records the Oscar nominated (Ice Castles, 1978) theme song Through the Eyes of Love.

Ice Castles is the film debut for Taylor Firth, who plays opposite Rob Mayes (Brooklyn to Manhattan). Sports fans can also look forward to cameo appearances by NBC News Olympics Correspondent Andrea Joyce, Olympic Medalist Michelle Kwan and U.S. figure skater Molly Oberstar.

Taylor Firth on Film

Although this was her first official acting role, Taylor Firth is no stranger to the ice rink. In 2007, when she was 15 years old, Firth became the second youngest senior lady to compete in the United States Figure Skating Championships. She tells us about her transition from rink to movie set in a delightful telephone interview.
