Ricks Sporting Goods

Richard McQueeney has become one of the Fort Lauderdale's's best-known artists, adorning the storefronts of several hundred commercial clients with seasonal greetings, commercial messages and other public notices. He has done so many windows, mirrors and signboards that during one major Monet exhibit at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art one observer noted "I can find fifty people here who recognize Quick Rick's work for every person who knows anything about Monet."

Now 74, the New Haven native became a fixture of the eastern Broward County scene at the age of 50. A former Marine, he began doing commercial artwork in Provincetown, Mass., where he found assignments hard to come by during the winter months. He decided to join the ranks of "snowbirds" visiting Sourh Florida during the winter months.
